SSI Helmet Stickers For Week #6

At SSI I enjoy recognizing great effort and team accomplishments each week. The coaches prepare the players and the players do their thing on Friday Night! Here are a few mentions for teams and individuals who performed very well!

HELMET STICKER: The SC North Stars bumped their record to 4-2 with a great win over a talented Waukee team this past Friday. I have been impressed with what the Stars have done to get up off the mat after a tough performance versus SC East. The loss on the road at Ames could easily have been a win. I truly believe this staff and players can win out from here to finish (7-2) and clinch a playoff berth! Great job Stars! I happen to be a former SC North football player myself. I am happy for the success Coach Mohr is having!

HELMET STICKER: The (5-1) OABCIG Falcons of head coach Larry Allen and staff have won back to back tight contests after having their 18-game winning streak snapped back in week #4. The Falcons have been involved in some close ball games coming from behind to defeat #1 ranked Spirit Lake 28-21 at that time when trailing at the half and won this past Friday week #6 against (4-2) Pocahontas Area while trailing 13-12 entering the fourth quarter to close out a 20-13 victory. Junior QB Beckett DeJean was 21-30 passing for (229) yards and (1) passing touchdown. Junior RB Griffin Diersen rushed (25) times for (148) yards and (2) touchdowns! This team is really preparing for the stretch post-season run by overcoming recent adversity to pick up two key wins against quality opponents. Nice job Falcons!

#3 Woodbury Central continues its undefeated run to push their record to (6-0) with a decisive 42-0 victory over (3-3) Westwood this past Friday. This team has such good chemistry and really respect their teammates coaching staff and the opponents they play. This is a special season taking place in Moville that should turn into a trip to the UNI dome barring injury. Congratulations to the coaches and players who have put in the work! This is a fun team to follow!

Keep your eye on #6 ranked West Sioux. The Falcons now (5-1) are set to take flight toward the post-season. The Falcons rolled in week six with a 42-0 shutout of Ridgeview. Junior QB Dylan Wiggins has been a steady leader all season passing for (1,494) yards and (18) touchdowns. Junior RB Carter Bultman has been sturdy in the backfield rushing for (637) yards and (8) scores. Wiggins has really been able to stretch the defensive secondary with junior TE Brady Lynott (28) receptions for (604) yards and (7) touchdowns. Along with senior WR Aaden Schwiesow who has hauled in (20) passes for (271) yards and (4) scores. The Falcon offense is averaging (41.0) points per game. The Falcon defense has totaled (34) TFL led by senior Cullen Koedam with (7) TFL. Stay tuned for November football in Hawarden!
