I would like to thank senior RB/LB Max McGill from Woodbury Central for inviting me to the 2023 Shrine Bowl dinner in Sioux City last night. McGill will finish off a spectacular athletic career this summer when he competes in baseball for the Wildcats before starting his football career at Iowa Western.
McGill, helped lead his football team to two state semifinals over the last two seasons and has been a joy to cover. I think very highly of him and his family. Head Coach Curt Bremer runs an excellent program at Woodbury Central and I was honored to be asked to attend. The Shrine Bowl will take place July 22 at the U.N.I. Dome in Cedar Falls.
