The Panthers have dropped the first two games of the season (0-2) heading into a battle with the Huskies on their home turf. There were signs last week of the offense starting to move the ball with consistency.

Junior QB Tye DeGeorgia 6-3 (175) had a nice game last week versus Canton passing for (268) yards and (3) touchdowns. Junior WR Tyler Kloucek 5-9 (175) is off to white hot start with (14) receptions for (288) yards and one score. Kloucek became the schools all-time leading receiver last weekend and currently has (68) career catches.

The Panther running game arrived last week in the form of freshman young pup Cameron Favors 5-9 (160) who carried (13) times for (105) yards. Favors burst on the scene with (3) kick returns for (61) yards. Favors comes from great bloodlines with older brothers who starred at RB in high school and are currently playing college football. One of the better lineman in the state is SDSU commit Seth Reinhardt 6-4 (275) who will be the key up front to the Panther running game. The Panther defense features junior Reid Stonhill led last week's effort with (6.0) tackles. Tyce Emrich added (4.0) stops and Tate Bernard had (5.0) stops.

The Huskies of head coach Jake Terry are out of the gate with a (2-0) start and are sitting at the top of the South Dakota 11B rankings at #1. This game provides an opportunity for the Huskies to set the trap for a 11A size school and will be a good measuring stick on where this year's version of Huskie football currently stands.

The offense is led by senior QB Levi Hanson. The running game has been productive running behind an experienced offensive line that includes king sized junior RG Addison Peterson 6-3 (295); Soph RT Carson Jacobs 6-1 (230); SR. Center Andrew Quiett 5-10 (245); SR. LG Blake Trudeau 6-2 (230) and Sr LT Dan Haverman 6-0 (230). Production in the run game has come from senior RB Brody VanRoekel 5-8 (190). Another offensive weapon for the Huskies is junior TE Aiden Hammitt 6-2 (195).

The defense for the Huskies has been salty through the first two games allowing only (7.5) points per game. Defensive leaders include junior Owen Boyle 6-3 (200); sophomore Ben Staber 6-1 (260) and Addison Peterson. Senior linebacker Caleb Heuertz is a seasoned veteran at LB and always impacts the game each Friday night. The secondary is led by junior CB Luke Swatek 5-10 (180).

SSI GAME PLAN: This game will likely be a contrast in styles on offense. The Panthers will look to move the ball through the air and challenge the Huskie secondary who do not see alot of passing games from their opponents. In order to do that, the running game has to add a dimension in the game plan to keep the Huskie defense honest. The Huskies will do what they do. They will run between the tackles and see if the Panthers can hold up at the line of scrimmage. Great game on tap tonight featuring some impressive talent up and down each roster.
