SSI Playoff Football: Iowa Class 1A Showdown between (10-1) West Sioux vs (11-0) Underwood

A great game is set to get underway inside the U.N.I. Dome today at 1:00 PM in the Semifinals! Head coach Ryan Schwiesow of the Falcons will lead his team against the Underwood Eagles of head coach Nate Mechelsen. There is familiarity here as these two teams met in the quarterfinal round last year and the Falcons advanced by winning 31-14. Here is a stat for you, over the last three seasons the Falcons are (28-6) and the Eagles are (30-3). Here is my Scouting Report....









The Falcons enter this semifinal contest playing very sound football. There is plenty of solid senior leadership to lead this Falcon squad to the Class 1A title game next week. Senior QB Dylan Wiggins has passed for (1,794) yards while completing (68%) of his passes for (29) touchdowns. The running game has been solid behind senior RB Carter Bultman who has piled up (1,124) yards on the ground and (17) rushing scores. Senior swiss army knife Brady Lynott has rushed for (363) yards and (9) scores. Lynott will lineup in the backfield or as a split TE or inline blocker. Lynott is an excellent college prospect.


The receiving infantry includes Bultman out of the backfield with (28) receptions for (298) yards and (2) scores. Lynott leads the team in receptions with (45) for (803) yards and (15) touchdowns. Senior receivers Mason Coppock (20) catches for (236) yards and (2) scores along with senior Avery Millikan (20) receptions for (265) yards and (7) touchdowns are all key impact players in the passing game. The offensive line is anchored by senior college OT prospect Clayton Gradert 6-4 (260). The Falcon defense led by team tackle leader LB Bultman (43.0) stops and (14.5) TFL; Coppock (43) tackles and (5) TFL; Keegan McMillan (40.5) tackles and (8.0) TFL along with freshman Tanner Lynott (38.0) tackles and (6.5) TFL and sophomore Kolton Koopmans (32.5) stops and (8) TFL round out a solid defensive huddle.




The Eagles are paced by senior QB Alex Ravlin who has passed for (2,489) yards and (31) touchdowns while completing (66%) of his passes.

Junior RB Maddox Nelson spearheads the run game with (774) yards and (15) scores. Other contributions in the running game will come from junior Graham Jensen (525) yards and (12) touchdowns. QB Ravlin has rushed for (449) yards and (6) scores. The key receivers in the passing game include junior Josh Ravlin (38) receptions for (467) yards and (8) touchdowns; junior Mason Boothby (36) catches for (836) yards and (10) scores and 6-3 (185) junior target Jack Vanfossan (30) receptions for (432) yards and (7) scores.


The Eagle defense is led by junior LB Graham Jensen (73) tackles and (11.5) TFL along with VanFossan (47.5) stops and (10) TFL; senior Wyatt Baker (39.0) tackles and (8.5) TFL; senior Gage Savin (35.5) tackles and (12.5) TFL and lastly junior LB Nelson with (31.5) stops and (11.0) TFL.
