The Scarlets were in Sioux City last week and dropped a 45-40 contest to SC West in a back-and-forth contest. The Scarlets do have offensive weapons which include junior QB JeCari Patton (1062) yards passing with (10) touchdowns. The rushing attack is led by senior RB Demetrious Hilson (392) yards and (1) touchdown. Senior RB Darius Sirleaf has also rushed for (136) yards on the year. The Scarlets are led receiving by Sirleaf (26) catches for (446) yards and (3) touchdowns. Junior WR Daniel Zeoh has hauled in (23) receptions for (394) yards and (4) scores. Defensively, the Scarlets have been giving up an avalanche of points over their last three games. During the 3-game skid teams are averaging (49.0) ppg. The Scarlets tackle leaders include senior LB Hilson with (42.5) tackles and (8.5) TFL. Junior Zeoh has recorded (21.5) stops and junior DE Tyron Wright (20.0) tackles lead the defensive efforts. BLACK RAIDERS: Head Coach Mike Winklepleck and his squad has dropped two difficult games in a row and are looking to get back on track with a shot to finish the regular season at 7-2 tonight’s game is one they must have to stay in the playoff mix in Class 5A. Senior QB Cole Ritchie has had a real nice senior season so far running offensive coordinator Bob Goodvin’s offense. Ritchie is completing 61% of his passes for (1,552) yards and (10) touchdowns. The rushing game has been steady with senior RB Brady Wavrunek racking up (266) yards and (8) scores. Senior Brecken Schossow has also been a solid contributor with (158) yards and (6) scores. The Black Raiders have one of the better receivers in the state in talented senior Kelynn Jacobsen (49) receptions for (609) yards and (3) scores. WR Preston Dobbs is having a nice season with (20) catches for (180) yards and a score. The Black Raider defense has been incredibly good all season. The Black Raiders have one of the better defensive lines in NW Iowa and two future college players leading the charge up front in senior South Dakota State commit DE Nick Wells (54.5) tackles with (18.5) TFL and senior DT Cale Pittenger (38.5) and (16.5) TFL. Wells and Pittenger form one of the best interior duos in NW Iowa. Senior LB Wavrunek is having an incredible year playing both sides of the ball and has a team leading (54.5) tackles and (8.0) TFL. The defensive line will have a significant impact on tonight’s game. Schossow has (36.0) stops at LB and junior Daniel Durio has (27) tackles for the aggressive front 7 of the Black Raiders. The defensive secondary is anchored by senior CB Carter Reekers, senior Dalyn Tope and sophomore Dane Milton. PREDICTION BLACK RAIDERS: 44
