Welcome to my newest column continuing to roll out some pre-season lists regarding talent in the Siouxland area for the 2024 season. Let's roll out some additional key players regardless of class. I will continue to build the list out each week until camp starts! Camp begins on August 12, which is now (33) days until the official start of practice! Here are some young athletes that can really play.
PRESENTED BY:
SIOUX CITY EAST Sophomore ATH/S Kason Clayborne 6-3 (210) currently ranked as the #6 overall prospect in the state of Iowa for 2027 and #1 ranked DB in the state by Prep RedZone Iowa is a can't miss prospect that is only going to get better and may see action on both sides of the football this fall. Clayborne started at safety as a true freshman last fall for the Black Raiders and finished with (42) tackles. Clayborne's HUDL film shows a clear high football I.Q. with his pursuit angles and sure tackling on the back end. Great football DNA here as his oldest brother (Deion) played CB at the NAIA level for national champion Morningside University and (Kobe) currently playing DL for South Dakota State. Tremendous college football prospect who can play a number of positions with his athleticism. D-1 potential here.
SIOUX CITY NORTH Senior SS Alex Soldati 5-8 (155) is a talented football player who returns as the team leading tackler with (65.0) tackles and (5.5) TFL. Soldati is very active in the Stars secondary in coverage but really excels in run support as he is a sure tackler who drills guys in the open field. Will be one of the Stars highlight players in 2024!
WEST LYON Junior OL Bryce Kock 6-3 (270) road grader up front. Kock is currently ranked as the #6 overall prospect in the 2026 Iowa Prep RedZone rankings and #2 OL in the state. Kock demonstrates good footwork and hand placement and has a great understanding of playing with leverage in the interior line. Kock is a sure fire D-1 prospect and is currently drawing interest from Iowa State, Iowa, Wisconsin and South Dakota State.
SIOUX CITY EAST Junior TE Jack Ohman 6-5 (215) is a talented athlete that is looking to do big things this fall for the Black Raiders. Ohman shows nice hands and is a very solid in-line blocking TE. Ohman cut his varsity teeth as a sophomore last fall and appears ready to take on a more prominent role on offense in the passing game. Great prospect at the college level and has a basketball background as well. Ohman is currently the #26 overall prospect in the 2026 class and #3 ranked TE according to Prep RedZone Iowa.
