UNDER THE STADIUM LIGHTS: The Eagles take flight on the road tonight to square up with the Wildcats. The Eagles of head coach Jason Garnand look to bounce back after a slim defeat encouraging performance against visiting Woodbury Central 27-24. The Wildcats come in off an impressive 14-2 victory on the road at Sioux Center last Friday.

This will be the first meeting since 2013 for these two programs and although West Lyon
is 5-0 in the series the Eagles aren't backing down. On Friday two play styles will clash as a high powered high octane Lawton team travels to take on a ground and pound wear you out West Lyon team. What Lawton does so well on offense the Wildcats will need to limit to come out victorious, because I can assure you more than 2 points will be on the visitor scoreboard come Friday.
Senior QB Braden Heiss was 21/30 for 248 yards and a touchdown on Friday, picking up right
where he left off last year. Balance on the offense will be the key for Lawton moving the ball this season. RB Evan Teager ran for (103) yards and (2) scores opening night and added another element that the Eagles didn't seem to have last year. Loading the box isn't the best idea against this team either with two dynamic wideouts they make you pick your poison trying to defend. Junior Louden Grimsley had (7) catches for (113) yards and a touchdown while senior Caleb Garnand had (5) catches for (61) yards and a 21-yard end around. No matter how they chose to attack you this seems like a well polished offense this year that is poised to put up some eye popping stats.
Junior RB Tate Hawf was a huge piece of the Wildcats offense last week totaling (136) yards and (2) scores. A team with limited seniors played really sound defense in game one only allowing (143) total yards week. 3Tfl’s, a Sack, and 51 total tackles spread evenly throughout the defense with (3) TFL, a sack and (51) total tackles helped shorten drives for the Wildcats and the longer the defense is on the sideline the better. Winning in the trenches will be a key factor in the outcome of Friday's game.
