SSI THANKS "THE OTHER PLACE" FOR THEIR STATE FOOTBALL SPONSORSHIP! FOOD & DRINKS, STAFF ARE FANTASTIC! GREAT GATHERING SPOT FOR FANS AND PLAYERS!

The Culture at Remsen St. Mary’s is having a winning mindset. “We want to do everything to the best of our ability with our God given talents. We have our leaders in each sport. These leaders push everyone on the team to be the best players possible.” Senior swiss army knife Jaxon Bunkers describes the culture the Remsen St. Mary’s Hawks have, as they play for yet another 8-Man Football Championship!

Remsen is looking for their second title in three years capping off a prolific high school career by all 8 of this year's graduating class. In the Semifinal matchup, Remsen sprinted out the gate and didn’t stop against a powerful Lenox team that ended in a final of 42-20. Quarterback Cael Ortmann, threw for (221) yards and 3 Tds and Bunkers added two with his legs as the game seemed to be wrapped up by halftime. Waco defeated Newell-Fonda 29-21 with a strong ground performance by their workhorse Simeon Reichenbach. On the season, Reichenbach has (1,883) total yards and (37) Tds, if not in obvious passing situations look for Simeon to carry the rock.

REMSEN PLAY MAKER JAXON BUNKERS

Waco has a near 100 tackle man in Drew Diers at (95.5) on the year, if the warriors need a stop they will look for Diers to make a play. Looking at this matchup it has all the makings of a shoot out. Both teams have (58) rushing Tds on the season although Remsen has thrown for more yards on less attempts. The Hawks big play ability that has overpowered teams this year will look to do it once more in the biggest game yet.

Bunkers closed with what it would mean to him and the rest of his teammates to cap off with a championship; “Another Championship to us the seniors would just be a way to reward us for all of the hard work we have put in since the 3rd grade. We know WACO is a very athletic and gifted team so we need to do the small things right to get the job done. This game is just like any other game we have prepared for all season and out mindset is just to go 1-0”
