The opening week of high school football provided some incredible performances. Here are my thoughts!

The Black Raiders travel to Sergeant Bluff (1-0) on Friday night.

The Stars never trailed while picking up a 21-13 victory over the Cardinals this past Friday night. Senior RB Parker Peterson paced the running game with (43) yards and (2) touchdowns. Next up for the Stars is a visit from LeMars (0-1) this Thursday night at Olsen Stadium.
The Hinton Blackhawks moved to (1-0) with a solid shutout of LeMars Gehlen 21-0 this past Friday night. Junior RB Cole Friessen rushed for (72) yards and (1) score on the night. The Blackhawk defense was led by junior Jackson Kounkel with (9.5) tackles. The Blackhawks are set to host Western Christian (1-0) this Friday night.
The 2023 Class 3A runner up Crusaders performed well on the road with a solid road win 32-14 over the Knights. The Crusaders defense set the tone by holding the Knights to (27) rushing yards for the game. Junior Crusader standout athlete Kasen Thomas rushed for (245) yards and (5) touchdowns.
