I stopped by Sioux City West practice this morning and was able to take a look at the roster. The first session was conditioning and then the Wolverines got into individual drills. The team finished team offense and defense to close practice. The Wolverines will scrimmage at Bishop Heelan this Friday night. The Wolverines are set for their opener Friday, August 28th when they travel to take on Council Bluffs TJ 7:00 PM
NOTEABLE PLAYERS: In watching the offense, junior QB Tavine Irvine 6-1 (195) showed to be a confident decision maker with the football and has good options in the passing game. Senior Chris Joseph 6-1 (175) is a nice target with good athleticism and speed to be a problem for the defensive secondary. The running game could be sneaky good. Junior Tramell Topete 5-11 (210) is shifty between the tackles. Irvine is dangerous with his legs and can really hurt a defense that is not disciplined and gap sound. A few other impact players include senior TE Kash Olson 6-3 (215) and classmate Jareth Cota TE. The Wolverines have a shot to start out (2-0) with @CBTJ and then play at home Thursday, September 3rd vs South Sioux City.
