Head coach Kurt Bremer returns some key players this season and will showcase a pretty experienced roster. Senior QB Jackson Verschoor 6-1 (210) is back behind center. Verschoor passed for (2,178) yards and (13) scores.
Verschoor can also hurt you with his mobility as he rushed for (342) yards and (12) touchdowns on the ground. Junior RB Abe McGill 5-10 (170) returns to follow up his (1,300) yard and (17) touchdown performance from a season ago.
Verschoor has some good receiving targets to get the ball too. Senior WR Jayden Lloyd 5-8 (165) caught (49) passes for (749) yards and (3) scores in 2025. Sophomore WR 5-9 (165) hauled in (31) catches and (8) touchdowns. The offensive line is led by senior Carter Wright 6-2 (250) and senior Holden Koele 6-0 (185). The Wildcat defense which held opponents to (9.7) points per game last season is led by senior linebacker Koele who had a team leading (66.5) tackles and (8.5) TFL. Senior Sam Dominick is back after recording (50.5) tackles and (5.0) TFL.

The Eagles of head coach Chad Moseman turned the corner last fall by earning a playoff berth. They are now looking to use that momentum as a spring board to pull an upset right out the gate versus the Wildcat tonight in Moville. The Eagles senior QB Noah Drew 6-2 (215) is an experienced leader back on offense who passed for (1,852) yards and (12) scores last season. Drew is also impactful in the running game as he rushed for (330) yards and (4) scores. Versatile senior RB/Slot Kallen Goosmann 5-10 (155) will be the feature back and also will be involved in the passing game.
Senior Breighton Carlson will also be a contributor in the run game. A key receiver for Drew will be junior Jackson Otto who grabbed (24) receptions for (234) yards last season. The defensive ring leader for the Eagles is senior Carlson who had a huge 2025 season with (87.0) tackles and (9.5) TFL. Junior Tallon Loving will also be a factor coming off a (21.0) tackle and (7.5) TFL season.
SSI GAME PLAN: This is one of the most intriguing games of the night. Two good quarterbacks squaring off tonight whose style of play are similar. The Wildcats I feel have an edge in the running game on offense. This game will be decided by whoever can win the turnover margin battle. This will be a great game played by two teams representing one of our best area rivalries. What a great way to kickoff the season!
