The Warriors used big plays in the passing game to defeat Bishop Heelan 21-10. Junior QB Justin Ehlers made his varsity debut and was executing at a high level. Ehlers was 7-10 for (170) yards and (3) touchdowns. Senior WR Gavin Ahrendt 6-5 (200) had two catches for (88) yards and two touchdowns. Senior Beckett Verros caught (2) passes for (81) yards and a score. Bishop Heelan once again defended the run fairly well against the ground oriented Warriors allowing (160.0) yards on the ground. Senior Grant Whitcomb had (4) receptions for (73) yards. Senior standout DL Max Aesoph recorded (5.5) tackles and Dylan Knapp had (5.0) tackles. The Warriors limited the Crusaders to (201) total yards on the night.

The Wolverines got a big road win to move to (1-0) on the season with a solid 29-0 victory over Council Bluffs TJ. The Wolverines built a 15-0 halftime lead and then raced out with a (14) point third quarter to put the game away. The Wolverines did their damage on the ground with (229) yards rushing and limited possessions to the Yellow Jackets. Junior QB Tavine Irvine rushed for (104) yards and (1) score. Irvine passed for (34) yards and connected with senior WR Chris Joseph on a 16-yard fade to the back of the left end-zone. Senior Tyson Beldin collected (5.5) tackles. Senior Kash Olson had a team high (7.0) tackles and (2.0) TFL.

The Woodbury Central Wildcats removed all doubt early Friday night with a 45-6 thrashing of Lawton-Bronson. The Wildcats used a balanced offensive attack (255) yards rushing and senior QB Jackson Verschoor was excellent completing 15-21 passes for (206) yards and (3) touchdowns. Senior playmaking WR Jayden Lloyd had a solid night with (7) receptions for (80) yards and a score. Sophomore WR Grayson Lloyd hauled in (6) catches for (86) yards and (2) touchdowns. Junior RB Abe McGill erupted for (181) yards on the ground and (3) scores. Holden Koele picked up where he left off last season with (8) tackles to lead the Wildcat defense. The Wildcats held a 21-7 first down advantage in the contest.

The #8 ranked Black Raiders looked dominant in a cross-town demolition of SC North 47-0 that I watched in person. The level of intensity that the Black Raiders played with was impressive. Junior QB Callan Koch making his first varsity start was completing passes with pin-point accuracy finishing (19-25) for (308) yards while completing (76%) of his passes.

Senior WR Chris Ford had (7) receptions for (155) yards including a 65-yard strike in the second quarter. Junior Tanner Boonstra was electric in the slot with (5) catches for (69) yards and a score. Senior TE Kason Clayborne was on the receiving end of (3) passes for (28) yards and two red-zone touchdowns. The Black Raider defense held SC North to (34) yards of offense and (2) first downs. Linebacker Clayborne led the defense with (6.0) tackles. Junior DL Landan Monk 6-2 (235) was active inside with (5.0) tackles and (1.5) TFL. Junior WR Isaiah Grant (DNP) due to injury.
