Siouxland HS Football Playoff Quarterfinals Set!

It is now November 1st. We have some local high school team's whose journey continues on to take part in a potential state championship game. Here is a breakdown of how we got where we are! More coverage to come this week from SSI, stay tuned for team updates throughout the week!



CLASS 3A SERGEANT BLUFF-LUTON (8-2) @ BHRV (10-0)


The Warriors put away Algona 44-14 behind a very good defensive effort and talented junior QB Tyler Smith torched the Bulldog secondary completing 81% of his passes (18-22) while passing for (268) yards and (3) scores. Smith also rushed for (94) yards and two scores. Senior WR Tyler Schenkelberg caught (6) passes for (104) yards and (2) touchdowns. Future Iowa State Cyclone linebacker Jacob Imming registered (4.5) tackles and (2.5) TFL including two crushing open field tackles. Smith executed a beautiful scoring drive to wrap up the first half and put the Warriors up for good at 30-0. The Warriors now travel to take on undefeated BHRV (10-0) this Friday at 7pm. The Nighthawks defeated the Warriors earlier this season 35-10.


CLASS 2A OABCIG (9-1) @ SE VALLEY (9-1)


The Falcons used a 20-7 first quarter lead to put away the Greene County Rams 34-14 and advance to the quarterfinals to face SE Valley who handed the Falcons their only defeat of the season 44-22 back on September 17th to snap a 28-game winning streak. Junior QB Beckett DeJean had a good night offensively. DeJean passed for (239) yards and two touchdowns. Junior Gabe Winterrowd had (8) receptions for (83) yards and one score. The SE Valley Jaguars advanced with a 50-13 win over Iowa Falls Alden.



CLASS 1A WEST SIOUX (9-1) @ UNDERWOOD (10-0)


The Falcon offense took flight early and pulled away winning 45-20 in round two over Ridge View. Junior RB Carter Bultman rushed for (221) yards and two touchdowns. Junior QB Dylan Wiggins passed for (188) yards and (3) touchdowns. The Falcon running game racked up (351) yards on the ground. The Falcons now hit the road to take on 10-0 Underwood Eagles who was a 35-0 winner over Western Christian.



CLASS A LOGAN-MAGNOLIA (9-1) @ WOODBURY CENTRAL (9-1)


The Wildcats led by head coach Kurt Bremer seized the moment at home last Friday with a convincing 35-0 victory over visiting Southwest Valley to vault into the state quarterfinals. Senior QB Dallas Kluender threw for (232) yards and (3) touchdowns. Junior RB Max McGill was effective rushing for (124) yards at (6.5) yards per carry and two scores. Senior WR Kaleb Bleil had (5) receptions for (103) yards and one score. The Wildcats now face the Panthers once again as they defeated them at home narrowly 18-13 back on September 3rd.
