First Day Of February Boys Hoops News & Updates

As post season play approaches, there are some key games to be played tonight throughout Siouxland! Here is a quick look at the boys post season dates.

FEBRUARY 1 BOYS GAME SLATE


7:00 PM SBL (7-9) @ SC EAST (12-3): The Warriors enter this clash featuring a 3-game win streak which includes a victory over first place CBAL 65-50 in a two overtime thriller last Friday. The Black Raiders have won 4 of their last 5 contests. Junior guard Tyler Smith leads the Warriors in scoring at a (17.6) ppg scoring clip. Dylon Schaap a junior forward is contributing (9.7) ppg and has put together a solid season. Junior Scott Kroll (8.4) ppg and has pulled down a team leading (96) rebounds. The Warriors will travel to Bishop Heelan (9-6) this Friday.


The Black Raiders will counter with senior slashing guard Bie Ruie (14.9) ppg and junior Preston Dobbs (13.2) ppg and leads the Black Raiders with an (80.9%) free throw percentage. Junior guard Cole Ritchie has had a breakthrough season chipping in (12.1) ppg. Long time Black Raider head coach Ras Vanderloo is looking to secure his 250th career victory tonight! The Black Raiders hit the road Friday to take on Council Bluffs AL (11-3) overall. Both teams are currently tied in the MRAC standings at (10-1) in conference play entering tonight.



7:00 PM COUNCIL BLUFFS TJ (1-14) @ BISHOP HEELAN (9-6): The Crusaders have split their last two games in defeating SC West last Friday and then losing to a powerful Western Christian team on Saturday. Sophomore Matt Noll (14.5) ppg paces the Crusaders in scoring but he has a solid supporting cast. Senior Nick Miller (10.3) ppg and (111) total boards on the season. Junior Sam Skinner (10.0) ppg and (29) assists on the year has been a steady performer. The Crusaders will play host to LeMars (10-6) this Friday when they will look to avenge a 59-56 setback to the Bulldogs just last week.


7:00 PM SC NORTH (1-15) @ LEMARS (10-6): The Stars will try to slow down 6-4 senior guard Caleb Dreckman who is knocking down (21.1) ppg and has drilled (37) 3-pointers on the season for the dogs. The Bulldogs also have strength in the post with 6-6 senior center Konnor Calhoun who is averaging (9.6) ppg and has pulled down (99) rebounds on the season.

The Stars find themselves in the midst of a nine game losing streak. Senior Carter Pinney has played well all season and is averaging (12.2) ppg while pulling down (55) boards. Junior Jack Lloyd (8.8) ppg has been solid and has a team high (83) rebounds on the season. The Stars will travel to Council Bluffs TJ (1-15) this Friday.



7:00 PM COUNCIL BLUFFS AL (11-3) @ SC WEST (4-9): Council Bluffs AL is learning how to deal with adversity. The season ending injury to senior guard and Iowa Hawkeye commit Josh Dix has really played havoc on the Lynx offensive output and production as expected. There is still some dudes including senior Jamison Gruber (17.9) ppg and is a 3-point threat having buried (37) from behind the arc good for (43.6%). Seniors Jake Duffey (9.1) ppg and Jaxson Jones (9.0) ppg and has splashed (34) triples on the season.

The Wolverines are led by juniors Keavian Hayes (16.5) ppg along with LaMarion Mothershead (12.1) ppg and is shooting (38%) from three point range. Junior Jay Grause chips in (7.5) ppg for the Wolverines and averages (4.3) rebounds per night. The Wolverines will travel to LeMars (10-6) this Saturday.
